An untamed line.

Kübra Müjde Braun is a UK-based painter whose large-scale figurative works give women space to be visible and heard beyond cultural expectations.
Born and raised in southeastern Turkey, in Mesopotamia, she studied fine arts in Şanlıurfa, Bolu and Istanbul before settling in Britain. Her work has been shown in London, Oxford and Newcastle, and in 2024 her painting flew above Newcastle Castle with BALTIC’s Open Submission.
Alongside painting, she has led workshops and museum tours since 2013, and in 2017 founded Qbicart in the UK, an art education platform that brings children together with art across cultures, online and in person.

I paint women who refuse to disappear.
I come from Mesopotamia, where memory is older than borders. I live in Britain, where I learned that a symbol can belong to everyone.
A flag is usually raised to claim land. I raise one to claim presence: the right to be seen, to be heard, to dance in public without asking permission.
My canvases are large because the silence they answer is large.
Art does not end at the gallery door. It continues in a museum with a child, in a workshop, above a castle, in a stranger who stops and looks up.
